Event Recap: The next Identity of the Change Manager

.On the 22nd of April, ACMP Sweden hosted an webinar with Nicholas Duval, MCMP™ Principal Advisor in Change & Transformation. The topic was “The next Identity of the Change Manager”. Our guest speaker led us through an engaging discussion regarding that the role has not failed. The context it was designed for no longer exists.

Change Management is everywhere, yet its influence is shrinking. Even with strong frameworks and experienced practitioners, many Change Managers are still positioned as delivery support. They are involved too late, focused on execution, or excluded from strategic decision-making. In a world of constant, technology-driven, enterprise-wide change, the role is still shaped by a project-era mindset. This gap is becoming harder to ignore.

The session explained why this is not a skills problem, but an identity problem. It explores the next evolution of the profession, from Change Manager to Change Architect. This is not a new title, but a shift in role, mindset, positioning, and presence in decision-making rooms.
